Stephanie Cake

1. I worked a lot in June. My co-worker's wife gave birth so we were one trainer short.
2. My friends got married... I helped with the wedding plans and then traveled out of town for the actual ceremony.
3. Another friend came to town from TX. It's always a nutty time when she's around.
4. The family beach week w/ the in-laws. 'Nuff said.
5. My dad's birthday (he just moved to NC so that was another trip tacked on to the end of the beach week).

I haven't been doing much around all that. With the exception of reading A LOT. Since the beginning of June I've read:

1. The Kite Runner (what a great book, can't beleive I resisted for so long... RD read it after me and CRIED)
2. Water for Elephants (better than I expected)
3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (read in a day & 1/2... totally worth the wait)
4. Salem Falls (kinda poopy.. but then again they made a Lifetime movie out of it so its no suprise)
5. Keeping Faith (very good)
6. Picture Perfect (yes, I had a freakin' Jodi Picoult fest... not nearly as good as I had hope)
7. Veil of Roses (hopelessly bad chick lit and a very poor representation of the Persian culture by a non-Persian)
8. Special Topics in Calamity Physics (I'm torn about this one)

I've also seen a few of movies...

1. Evan Almighty (cute and tame but totally formulaic)
2. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (no suprises here but then again what can you expect when you've read the book?)
3. Evening (VERY good but the saddest, most depressing movie I've seen in ages... bring tissues)

I've knitted a tiny bit. I've slept. I honestly think its about time to get off my ass and do something. I'm not sure what though....
