There's a little black spot on the sun today....
....that's my soul out there....
I turned 32 today. Yeep! I'm old. Positively geriatric. One foot in the grave. But enough about that.
I just realized that I haven't written in a reeeeeeeaaaallllly long time. I'm really not sure where time goes. Anywho.
Yesterday thru Sunday I am attending the Art & Soul retreat in Hampton, Va. Yowza! Its been stupendous. Last nite I took a class with Claudine Hellmuth... quite possibly one of the most excited and energetic people I have met in quite some time. She truly inspires me and I'm really excited that I got to meet her and hear about her work. Today I took classes with Leslie Riley and Susan Lenart Kazmer. Totally different types of work and styles but definitely stuff that speaks to me and gets my creativity motored up.
I can't even begin to express the guilt I feel about spending $$ on these classes but I think its really good for me and I have high hopes about my career as a real live artist working out. I have about 8 million ideas for actual pieces, marketing, writing, teaching, etc. I've just gotta keep the momentum. Immobility and lack on fortitude, of course, is always my downfall.
On a really exciting note, one of my pieces won a member's mention for an online show. Not instant fame and fortune but its a start in the right direction!
Stay tuned. More goodness to come.... hopefully.
