yawn......sigh.....
The past few weeks have flown by so fast I can hardly get my bearings.
My dad finally got out of the hospital on Friday. He's doing much better and I'm grateful to all my friends and extended family who have checked in on me and worried for me, etc.
Things were kind of scary Saturday the 29th... Rob and I went to visit and he was really confused and disoriented. I remember seeing a movie in HS Human Physiology about schizophenics and he totally reminded me of them. He was talking on and on about stuff that totally made no sense and he would string together complete nonsense words when you could tell he was trying to describe or talk about something else. At one point the nurse asked him my name and he said "Debra Mouth". He knew who I was but seemed to think I was someone else. It was nuts. Luckily it was a temporary thing brought on by the toxicity of the blood pressure meds he was on.
They also discovered the complications of a renal artery stenosis and swollen prostate. Both of these things are causing problems with sodium regulation which complicates the blood pressure issue. But at least he's home and sort of out of the woods so to speak.
In my own world, I'm just totally exhausted. I've been procrastinating on several major projects. I think I'm teetering on the brink of major depression. I'm heading to CA in a couple of weeks and I'm already dreading the flight and the time zone difference and all the stupid things I worry about that I shouldn't worry about.
Yesterday, Connor and I went to the Maryland Science Center. It was fun and we met my friend Steve down there. It was a nice diversion although Connor got all whiney at the end and I think I snapped into impatient, annoyed mother mode... which I hate doing.
I'm off to Piney Point tomorrow. Eric will be back with his crazy Portland stories. Should be aother pleasant diversion.
